We missed an aviation milestone a couple of weeks ago with the death on August 14, 2025 of a man believed to be the last surviving American ACE of WWII: Don McPherson. He was 103 years of age.

Suffice it to say that McPherson, a certified member of “the Greatest Generation”, lived a good and humble life, accented by his aviation heroics as described in an article courtesy of the Military Times at the above URL.
Onward and upward!
